Hi
New release 0.0.54 at
ftp.nvg.ntnu.no:/pub/vms/freevms (freevms-0_0_54.tgz and linker-0_0_45)
(Linker might not change each time)
news:
General:
Have started to implement P1 space (P1 Pointer Page and user stack).
New service sys$creprc, with example program creprc.
/sbin/init no longer runs by default, it is now replaced by loginout.
Now possible to compile with gcc 3.3.
New bug:
Threading is now broke/gone (if it did not already happen last time).
Notes:
The UML version is broke for the time being (but might be close to working).
The CONFIG_VMS version is not working properly right now, goes only to /bin/sh
and can not fork.
/sbin/init has been replaced, because of crash with init and keventd.
Creprc has some problems with the output, but it runs. (With CONFIG_VMS
you may soon be able to load a FreeVMS image where output works).
Next:
More P1 space.
Will do more with the IP stuff.
Might move clustering to just CONFIG_VMS mode, and go from socket to QIO.
Not so short-term I/O and other plans:
Let RMS also use Ext2 with write support.
Execute programs with execve and imgact on Ods-2.
Get more/better write-support in.
Do more SCA/SCS stuff.
After some time even more driver support might be cut/broke (the most).
Regards,
Roar Thronæs
