Hi
New release 0.0.47 at
ftp.nvg.ntnu.no:/pub/vms/freevms (freevms-0_0_47.tgz and linker-0_0_45)
(Linker might not change each time)
news:
For CONFIG_VMS:
Fork is now working better.
Ext2 write support is getting back in.
For uml:
Symlinks is no longer needed from /usr/include/{asm,linux}.
Bugfix:
Lots Ext2-, MM- and fork-related.
Note (for CONFIG_VMS):
There is (still) some serious corruption someplace.
Bochs/386 and uml seem to have different problems (previous corruption?).
CONFIG_VMS is very experimental, so do not expect it to stay up long
after booting (no more advanced boot than init=/bin/sh).
The write support may not be as destructive as before.
Beware of truncation.
Note (for RedHat 9):
The general brokenness for uml has returned.
In addition, debug backtracing is almost not working, so I can get nothing
there either.
Note:
If getting "tracing myself" too much, it might help using a slower box.
Short-term I/O plans (still):
Let RMS also use Ext2.
Get more/better write-support in.
At least look at whatever "device" uml uses and NE2000.
After some time even more driver support might be cut/broke (the most).
Regards,
Roar Thronæs
