(Btw, I have now added the patches for 2.4.16.
It just changes md.c, but I had to cut md support in .config)
I do not think your kernel would boot, either.
Some days ago I changed lot in the scheduler, but it was not quite working.
(Said it in some cvs message)
My current commits are better, even though it feels a bit weird.
(They need some cleaning, though)
