Did this start with Linux 1.0?
Even today, an even minor number is not stable unless the patchlevel is high :)
No problem, we will just have an odd minor version number for a long time.
One thing: .s may prove a fs-problem.
Better: Something like freevms-0_0_0.tgz ?
