Hello,

I am quiet sure that I'm doing things the wrong way. :-)

First, it seems to me that for the last releases, the kernel sources are
no longer needed. Everything is now in the tar file. Is that correct ?

I've read the HOWTO in the freevms/linux directory. The steps are:
execute ./prescript in freevms/linux, then go to freevms and do make and
make install. After that, copy some files... but which ones? Is it the
full directory rooti386 or vms$common? And to where? Can you please
provide the exact cp command? It will be easier.

But the trouble that I got is to make the kernel. "make dep" gives the
error "...no rules..." in drivers/acpi. I checked and there is no
Makefile there. So I checked the others directories, some doesn't have a
Makefile, and some just are not here even if they are specified in the
Makefile of the parent directory. So I started to clean all the stuff,
one at a time. Finaly I succeded in the "make dep". But when the "make
bzImage" gave me the error "video.o not found", I gave up... I've tried
with i386, um, with and without CONFIG_VMS.

Thanks for help,
Zakaria
