Removed the problem (but do not know the exact cause).
Experimented with removing the need to have specific symlinks from
/usr/include/asm and /usr/include/linux, managed that, and then
the problem was not there anymore.
The fix is checked in, and will be in the next version.

So now uml seems (relatively) ok again.
(Aside from getting "tracing myself" most of the time on one of the boxes).
