Hi
New release 0.0.46 at
ftp.nvg.ntnu.no:/pub/vms/freevms (freevms-0_0_46.tgz and linker-0_0_45)
(Linker might not change each time)
news:
Generally:
Better and more unified kernel build system.
(A separate kernel dir is no longer needed; a bit stripped one is included.)
A lot of device, fs, net etc support has been cut.
For CONFIG_VMS:
Linux buffer- and pagecache is now removed.
Ext2 now uses WCBs and FCBs.
Bugfix:
Demand zero page did not give zeroed pages (CONFIG_VMS).
Note (for CONFIG_VMS):
The floppy driver has broke, so it will not be compile (for some time).
There is (still) some serious corruption someplace.
Bochs/386 and uml seem to have different problems (previous corruption?).
CONFIG_VMS is very experimental, so do not expect it to stay up long
after booting (no more advanced boot than init=/bin/sh).
The write support may be very destructive.
Short-term I/O plans (still):
Get more/better write-support in.
At least look at whatever "device" uml uses and NE2000.
After some time even more driver support might be cut/broke (the most).
Regards,
Roar Thronæs
