User-mode Linux, see http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/
No kernel modules needed, you just do a ./linux, and the kernel runs in
user-mode.
It makes debugging a easier, but it has limitations because I can not use
more interrupts and can only get ASTs half-way working.
