Hi,
I would like to work on this project and help in any way possible.
Can you guys point me from where to start. I know a fair amount of C and
some x86 assembly and some lesser amount of french too. I worked on VMS
for two years and since last year I have been working on Solaris.
Currently I don't have access to any VMS machines can I access any VMS
machine over the internet? So that I could refresh my VMS skills. From
what I gather currently FreeVMS is based on the linux 2.4 kernel, what I
would like to know is are we modifying the kernel itself or building an
emulation layer over the kernel so that whenever we have newer versions
of linux kernel (or for that matter if we decide on some other OS
kernel) porting FreeVMS would be easy. Does the current verison 0.11
boot on Bochs (http://bochs.sourceforge.net/) ?
-V
P.S: I am still going through the mailing list archive so many of my
questions could be already answered.
